| The 2016 S38 OD NSW Championships is now only a few months away. Support for the event is looking good with a strong contingent expected from the harbour.
We are hopeful of getting into double digit numbers and this will not only provide great racing but a great opportunity for crews to get their boats into OD trim in preparation for the 2017 S38 OD Internationals.
The S38 OD Internationals, will be held from 3 to 5 March 2017 as part of the Sydney Harbour Regatta out of Middle Harbour Yacht Club. We have strong interest in this event and are expecting to have up to three international entries, from the USA and New Caledonia and hopefully three from Victoria.
The timetable for the NSW States is as follows:
Friday 4th November (late afternoon) – compliance checks, registrations weigh in and welcome drinks
Saturday 5th of November – compliance checks & crew weigh in completion and day one of racing within Pittwater followed by the drinks on the dock and a crew BBQ at RPAYC.
Sunday 6th of November – day two of racing, in Broken Bay, weather permitting, followed by drinks and prize giving
The Entry Fee is still to be finalised however we are aiming to keep it as low as possible. It will include berthing for boats coming to Pittwater from other locations. The regatta will require a current Yachting Australia Special Regulations Form for Race Category 7 or higher. This regatta will also be conducted in compliance wiht the Sydney 38 OD Class Rules which now allow mast head spinnakers.
